I Spend It – Mayhem x Antiserum
Damn, Mayhem and Antiserum are bringing the HEAVY trap today! This Trap Remix of none other than the homie 2 Chainz’ ‘Spend It’ has more of Trapstep sound to it but is nonetheless a straight banger that needs to be heard on dope speakers with the volume turned up, way up. You may recognize Anitserum from the bass heavy track ‘BASS SALT’, a collaboration with 12th Planet, released about a month ago that redefined what Trap/Trapstep is. Now hitting it off with Mayhem, the Trap duo have produced a mad remix that is sure to please all trap lovers with their phat snares, Pink Floyd’s “Money”-esk cash register and dollar bill ripping sounds, and vocals from the Atlanta native 2 Chainz. What Happened – Thugli
I know it’s not throwback Thursday or anything but I have been getting down to this dope ass Trap Remix that came out a few months ago, compliments of Thugli, for a while and I thought I would hook you guys up if you haven’t heard it yet. Thugli, consisting of Tom Wrecks and Drastik, is a brand new duo that joined forces only a short time ago but it seems like they have been together for years based on the sick tracks they have released. “What Happened” is a revamped Trap remix of Birdman’s OG track “What Happened To That Boy” that is full of on point percussion percussion surrounding a hood ass bassline. Recently mixed in R.L. Grimes Halloween Mix, “What Happened” is only an introduction of what Thugli can and will produce so be sure to check back for more remixes by the duo. Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona this trap-heavy duo has just released a track today called Trap Reflections. The song has a sick bassline that I was not expecting and the glitches to the vocals before the transition and the drop are a nice touch. When I first heard Flinch’s ‘Raindrops’ I was simply blown away by how much bass and absolute filth was mashed into one track. Now remixing Ellie Goulding’s brand new single, ‘Anything Could Happen’ Flinch shows us his lighter Dubstep side as he carries Ellie’s beautiful vocals throughout the song and combining it with a soft drum and bass rhythm topped off with some dope synths that will rattle the hell out of your rearview mirror. I need your heart has been a great slow jam for a while and now Minnesota, a Santa Cruz based producer and DJ, has been lighting up shows across the nation with his upbeat melodies and hard hitting bass. On the EDM scene for only a few years, the 23 year old has gained credibility from touring with artists such as Big Gigantic and Paper Diamond as well as having a few of his top tracks mixed by Bassnectar in sets. Minnesota is steady blowing up with new mixes coming out frequently and we are WAY TOO STOKED to see him at Lights All Night in Dallas for New Years!!! 80′s Fitness – KOAN Sound (Official Video by Tim Hendrix)
When KOAN Sound dropped 80′s Fitness just a few months ago it broke the sound barrier of music meaning that this unorthodox song has so many weird and different sounds that marry together to produce a great track to get down to. After the song was debuted they decided to make an official music video for their new track so the publicist for KOAN Sound turned to Tim Hendrix, a great high school friend of mine and student at Art Center College of Design majoring in film located in Pasadena, California, to produce their official video. Tim has been making short animated films since I met him at West Junior High and his unique style of animation is perfectly linked to the abstract sound that KOAN Sound has created making a creative and thrilling video. Even on a small budget, Hendrix put everything he had into making this video and has produced a masterpiece. 5 and A Dime, a Philadelphia based producer and DJ, has been a force to reckon with since he emerged on the EDM scene only a few years ago. He is a master of mashing up all different genres from Dubstep, Electro, Hip Hop and House creating his own nonconventional sound. You might recognize 5 & A Dime from recent remixes such as Skrillmau5, Filth in Paris, and Dream which completely redefined what a mashup is and has established a solid following in the short time he has been a DJ. Now 5 & A Dime has brought us a phat mashup that is guaranteed to have your head banging to the beat. Black Magic (Kill The Noise Pt. 2)
This opening song on Kill The Noise’s brand new EP called BLVCK MVGIC is nothing like anything that I have heard before. The intro starts out with choir singing “Kill The Noise” which is cleverly reworked in and out of the heavy duty baselines throughout the song. This track literally had me on the edge of my seat in anticipation of the drop. This anticipation of Kill The Noise’s epic filthy drops probably arrises from seeing him at Hard Haunted Day of the Dead 2012 only a few weeks ago where he absolutely destroyed his set.
